First each skill is assigned a value based on the maximum attainable
skill :
0 = Unusable
1 = Normal
2 = Expert
3 = Master
4 = Grand Master
I summed up the points for each of the classes to give the total skill
value for each class. By looking at this number (labeled "TOTAL")
it appears that the dragon is the worst possible character to play, for
it's skill value is only 32. This means that for all 34 skills, on
average (the Total Skills / Total line) it can not even be normal level
compared to all the other characters. If we continue to look at the
same line, the Dark Elf is well beyond everyone else with a 56 skill value
an average of 1.65 and that the best on the board, way better then the
dragon.
Now look at the final line, "Total / Usable". This is the skill
value divided by the total number of skills that the class can use (i.e.:
all skills with a value of > 0 [normal or higher]). This means that
for the skills the class can learn, on average how high can they progress,
or how well they use the skills that they have. Although the dragon
appeared to not even make it to normal levels for all the skills, it can
make it to Master level for the skills that it can learn! In second
place is the Dark Elf with 2.8 and the worst of the class is the Minotaur
that achieves only a 2.3.
You can't just rank the classes based on these values because if you
want a well rounded party, you will need to have a cleric, a Necromancer
or Dark Elf and at least one fighter, Dragon, Knight, Troll or Minotaur.
Here is how I see a few different parties :
Strong Spell Based :
Dark Elf, Dark Elf, Necromancer, Cleric, Dragon
Strong Fighting Based :
Dragon, Dragon, Knight, Knight, Cleric
Mixed :
Necromancer, Dark Elf, Cleric, Dragon, Dark Elf |
