Notes on Summary Table
  1. Never pick a dual class combination which results in your second class ending up (due to the 89000 limit) at or lower than the level of your first class. The second class must be one level higher than the first in order for the first class attributes to again become usable.
  2. Cleric/Ranger (5/7) looks like a bargain. In the normal game, the best a single class Ranger can make is level 7. The Cleric/Ranger gives you a level 7 Ranger with level 5 Cleric abilities. Since Rangers cannot dual-class, you must start out as a Cleric which should work (have not confirmed this). However, the Ranger is limited using Cleric weapons.
  3. Thief/Cleric (8/5) looks like another bargain. In the normal game, the best a single class Thief can make is level 8. The Thief/Cleric gives you a level 8 Thief with level 5 Cleric abilities. However, the Thief is limited to using Cleric weapons.
  4. Additional dual-class bargains appear to be:
    1. a) Fighter/Thief (5/8) - But, thieving skills not available with greater than studded leather armor.
      b) Fighter/Cleric (6/7) - But, Fighter limited to using Cleric weapons.
      c) Fighter/Mage (5/7) - But, cannot cast spells while wearing any armor.
      d) Fighter/Druid (5/8) - But, Fighter limited to using Druid weapons.
      e) Mage/Thief (4/8) - But, cannot cast spells while wearing any armor.
      f) Cleric/Mage (6/7) - But, cannot cast Mage spells while wearing any armor.
